The essence of a person, or a place, is seldom perceived from a surface look. Likewise, a perfect photograph may reveal the form but not the soul of the person or place. I photograph actual places and created scenes that reflect cultural and historical situations. I look for the soul of my subject. My photographs expose memories and stir up emotions about those memories.
