Laurie Hill Phelps' newly recognized water colors and brightly colored oils have a life of their own. She paints with a combination of traditional knowledge and her own style of layering color, capturing the emotional and visual aspects of the ever changing Northern New Mexico landscape. A union of abstraction and detail can be seen in this artist's work that separates it from others. Her work can be found in collections in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
